Saved flights

A flight you track is saved on your iPhone after it ends, so you can replay it on the map. Open ⋯ → My Schedule → Saved flights.

On this page

Waiting

Until a tracked flight ends, it’s listed under Waiting (“Waiting until the flight is over”). SimpleAvWx downloads it while the app is open. Swipe left and tap Cancel to stop it from being saved.

The list

Each saved flight shows its date and time, then Saved or the date it will be deleted (“Deletes Oct 18”). The Saved flights row in My Schedule shows how many there are and how many are waiting.

Keeping a flight

Anything you don’t save is deleted after 10 days. To keep a flight, swipe left and tap Save, or tap Save in the replay bar.

Replay on the map

  1. Tap a saved flight. The map opens with its track.
  2. Tap play to replay it, or drag the slider, or drag along the route on the map, to move the airplane. The clock shows the time at that point.
  3. Tap ✕ to close the replay.

Deleting

Swipe left and tap Delete. Delete Previous Sequences in My Schedule also deletes the saved flights from those sequences.

Exporting the track log

Tap the share arrow next to a saved flight to export its track log as a CSV file, with UTC time, latitude, longitude, altitude (ft), ground speed (kt), and track (degrees).

If a flight can’t be saved

If too many flights are being saved, the app asks you to delete a saved flight and try again.
