Sharing

Nothing is shared unless you tap a share button. What you share goes only where you send it.

Share an airport’s weather

  1. Open the airport and stay on the Wx tab.
  2. Tap the share button at the top right.
  3. Choose where to send it.

The share includes the current METAR, TAF, D-ATIS, and RVR. Messages gets plain text. Mail gets a formatted message. Save to Files and AirDrop get a formatted page. Each share includes the line “Not for navigation. Check official sources.” and ends with the SimpleAvWx name and a link to this site.

Shared weather is a snapshot. It isn’t updated after you send it.

Share a sequence

Tap the share button on a sequence in My Schedule, in My Sequences, or in the map’s flight panel. It sends a SimpleAvWx sequence file that someone with SimpleAvWx can open.

The file contains the sequence number, dates, airports, and each flight’s number, airports, times, deadhead status, and airplane.

Open a sequence someone sent you

Tap the file (for example in Messages or Files) and open it in SimpleAvWx. It’s added next to your own schedule and marked Shared, and your imported schedule isn’t changed. If nothing is showing in My Trip yet, it’s shown there. To remove it, delete it in My Schedule.

If the file can’t be read, the app says it may be from a newer version of SimpleAvWx.

Export a flight’s track log

In Saved flights, tap the share arrow next to a flight to send its track log as a CSV file.
