Getting started
The first screen: “Not For Navigation!”
When you first open SimpleAvWx you'll see a warning that the app is not an FAA-approved source of information. Tap Agree to continue. If you tap Cancel, the app asks you to quit or Try Again.
The app shows this warning again from time to time as a reminder. That is expected.

Location permission
The first time you open the map, iOS asks whether SimpleAvWx can use your location. It is only used on the map: to center it around you (Near Me) and show where you are. Your location stays on your iPhone. Everything else works if you choose Don't Allow. See Privacy.
Finding your way around
- Top-left button switches between the airport grid and the map.
- Top center shows the current time in UTC. Press and hold it to show each airport's last report time on the squares instead of the wind.
- + adds airports (how).
- ⋯ opens the menu: Text Size, Help, Settings, Import Schedule, Select Airports, and the calculators.
- Tap an airport square to open its weather. Inside, the tabs at the bottom are Runways, D-ATIS, and Wx (Wx opens first).
- Pull down on a list to refresh the weather.
The app starts with one sample airport (KEEN) so you can see how a square looks. Delete it any time.
